Here in Michigan, homeschoolers are 'allowed' to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities. However, I believe that most parents rather enroll their kids in off campus activities, at least in my area.

Hi There Linda!

I coach several sports teams in our school district and we DO allow homeschoolers to be a part of the baseball programs. It has never caused problems at the youth or high school level.

Public school sports are sometimes the only way children can participate (especially in smaller communities like you mention). There are so many good lessons to be learned through sports, I hate to see kids locked out simply because homeschooling is a better option for their family.
